The business was started in June 1964 by the late Bernard Pierce. Apart from active service during World War II, Bernard spent his working life in estate agency and surveying and was particularly well known in local farming circles. |

| His son, Richard who is now principal of the firm has worked in the property industry since graduating in 1977. Initially employed by British Rail Property Board in Bristol he joined the family business in 1988. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors |

| Richard’s sister Jane is a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents and has worked in the practice since the early 1980’s. |
